'Experiment in monozygosis - two' 2003
This work consists of four self portraits that I made in 1993 during
a particularly difficult time in my life, having had what i refer to as 'a bit of a
breakdown' and suffering from amongst other things acute agorophobia that
resulted in me being virtually housebound for longer than I care to remember.
These portraits are a very real interpretation of my feelings at that time. I also
feel strongly that these should now be seen (for the first time) as they address
issues not often discussed, particularly in relation to men. The title refers
to the common shorthand for anxiety and depression used by doctors.
These pieces are currently in production for exhibition. They are large scale works
constructed in the same 'panel' style as my last exhibition (see 'DISCO verme')
They measure approximately 84" x 60" and each is constructed with
25 individual prints.
The work is for sale.
